Susceptibility of different plant species to two populations of Ditylenchus dipsaci Kühn, 1857 (Tylenchida: Anguinidae) from Turkey

Stem and bulb nematode, Ditylenchus dipsaci Kühn, 1857 (Tylenchida: Anguinidae), is one of the most important plant parasitic nematodes worldwide. The host range local populations needs to be determined for control using crop rotation. Susceptibility 29 species was tested onion garlic D. from Central Anatolian Plateau in Turkey under growth chamber conditions Karaman 2019. Based on reproduction factor nematodes, garlic, tomato were excellent hosts both dipsaci. Pea spinach population, while good population with cucumber a populations. Eggplant, pepper zucchini identified as poor nematode Bean potato non-hosts population. Alfalfa, barley, carrot, chickpea, daffodil, hyacinth, kale, leek, lettuce, maize, melon, oat, rye, strawberry, sugar beet, tobacco, tulip wheat Infection significantly reduced weight tomato, height pepper. Rotational crops use areas infected indicated by current study.

The alfalfa race of Ditylenchus dipsaci parasitized and caused characteristic symptoms on nonhost seedlings of sweet clover, onion, tomato, sugarbeet, and wheat in controlled growth-chamber studies.
